What is a work placement company?

Work placement companies provide vocational training for students in a thorough and professional way. Companies willing and able to offer work placement to students, may apply for certification at Kenwerk.

When certified, work placement companies may provide on-the-job training to both student-trainees and apprentice-employees:

  • Trainees go through various periods of practice during their training. This way of educating is called the college-based route.
  • Apprentice-employees choose for learning while at work. They work four days a week at a certified work placement company and attend VET college one day a week. This is called the training-based route.

Companies interested in offering internships to Dutch students are invited to contact Kenwerk in order to formally become a 'certified work placement company'.
